Kobe recently turned TWO! The time flies...it feels like we JUST got Kobe yesterday!
Here in Chicago, we have a doggy treat truck that drives around the city and makes stops in different neighborhoods. She also makes custom doggy birthday cakes!
We decided to have a little birthday party for Kobe, but the weather turned out to be really crappy, so we just stayed in and celebrated with our little love bug.
Happy Birthday to the sweetest little pup ever!

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! Kobe had such a great Father's Day weekend!
My family and I went on a road trip to Iowa (from Chicago ~4 hours) to view an apartment for my younger brother who is currently studying at the University of Iowa.
Funny enough, we were able to bring Kobe inside with us to view the apartment, then again inside the leasing office where we played hide and seek and he rolled around a rug that had the Iowa Hawkeyes logo on it. We cannot wait to go back and help my little bro move in and maybe watch a football game and do some tailgating! Woo-hoo! Afterwards, we went and had dinner in an outdoor patio, got a little ice cream, and headed back to Chicago. But first, we stopped by the Mississippi River and took a couple picks of that, too! Such a FUN weekend!
Here's Kobe with both his dad and with his grandpa for Fathers Day & a couple other shots of Kobe enjoying the view on our way to and from the Univ of Iowa! :)

Shopping Date at Nordstrom!
I love to shop! And what's better than being able to take your dog with you on any given shopping date? I can't think of too many things. Being able to combine two things you love, that's my definition of a perfect time. That's just what Kobe and I did over the weekend!
All along Michigan Avenue, also referred to as the Magnificent Mile, are many dog-friendly shops and restaurants. Nordstrom just happens to allow dogs of any size into their store, so we stopped by for the afternoon with Kobe for his first shopping date. We didn't stay for long, and definitely plan to come back.
Nordstrom is actually located in a mall called the Shops at North Bridge. We walked through the mall, since it's also dog-friendly, and they have restaurants, and other brand name shops as well. A shopping must if visiting Chicago :)

Nordstrom, here we come!
Riding up the elevator to the stores!
Trying to give dad some fashion tips!
...And still checking myself out in the mirror!
Perusing through the racks to see what would best flatter my figure! ;)
Walking through the mall while everyone points and asks if they can say hi!
What a fun shopping date!

Old Town Art Festival!
With summer just around the corner, I'm so excited for Chicago's festival season to kick-off!
This weekend, we went to one of our favorite art festivals, the 38th annual Old Town Wells Street Fair, and we had a great time!
Old Town is located just North of downtown in Chicago. It's considered to be an affluent and historic neighborhood, home to many of Chicago's older, Victorian-era buildings. There's so much to do in Old Town, including different bars and restaurants (many of which are dog-friendly!), and many boutique-style stores for shopping!
We walked up Wells street, ate some good food and looked at all the great artwork!
Kobe enjoyed himself, too. Especially when he'd find pieces of food on the ground that he'd eat right away. Mom and Dad didn't like that part very much!
